N2 - This research study finds out English as a Lingua Franca or world language and its pedagogical concerns in Pakistan. The researcher has tried to find out the status of English as a Lingua Franca within the pedagogical system in Pakistan. The link between the teacher and students and the comprehension of the global nature of English by the students has also been noted. Nevertheless, regardless of these significant shortcomings, English is still badly needed as a means of world communication, education, technology acquisition, and growth within Pakistan. Therefore, it is important that conventional approaches to the teaching of English as a lingua franca should shift. In Pakistani socio-cultural background, conventional pedagogy from the native speakers needs to be checked for enabling English learners to trust their language-learning tasks more. Consequently, English instruction and its global position require a paradigm change. For this reason, a twenty item Likert Scale questionnaire was created and administered to postgraduate students and English Language Teachers (ELT) with five categories related to English as a lingua franca. Subsequently, interviews for the research were based upon ten questions and English for its status at international level was looked at and questionnaires were administered and interviews were conducted.
