Abstract
This chapter aimed to assess the Saudi female fashion entrepreneurs’ understanding of the circular economy based on the Saudi Vision 2030 and evaluate the challenges Saudi female fashion entrepreneurs face in developing sustainable solutions in the luxury fashion market. The research was undertaken with 22 participants, who were female entrepreneurs from Saudi Arabia. The participants were selected using a purposive selection method, and qualitative interviews were conducted to obtain in-depth knowledge and explore the female entrepreneurs’ perspectives. The findings revealed that the participants were motivated to follow the Saudi Vision 2030 and Circular Economic Strategies, though they lacked a fuller understanding of sustainability and circular economy concepts. They were also not fully aware of the strategies and methodologies that they could adopt to ensure the sustainability of their business and needed both guidance and support for implementing circular economy strategies. The research, therefore, has implications for policymakers to make knowledge, expertise, training, and hands-on guidance available to these female luxury fashion entrepreneurs so that they can effectively participate in the circular economy.
