Abstract
This descriptive study was conducted to determine the antibiotic susceptibility pattern of Acinetobacter baumannii at different hospitals in three cities in Saudi Arabia and included reviewing the bacterial resistance results during a period of six months in these hospitals. Acinetobacter baumannii was resistant to most of the tested antibiotics. Fortunately, the resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii to colistin (the last resort for treatment of multidrug-resistant A. baumannii) was 0%. It is important to determine the pattern of antibiotic the resistance before treatment to help the physicians to select the appropriate antibiotic and to prevent the resistance of this pathogen in societies.
