N2 - Neonatal sepsis, a life-threatening condition characterized by systemic infection in newborns, continues to pose a significant challenge in perinatal care. Despite advances in medical science, neonatal sepsis remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among infants worldwide (Stoll et al., 2011). Objectives: The following are the purposes of this review: Clinical Relevance, Identification of Gaps, Integration of Advances, Global Perspectives, and the importance of staying abreast of the latest strategies. Methodology: This review was conducted using Google Scholar research from 1980 to 2023. Conclusion: The review of current management strategies for neonatal sepsis highlights a comprehensive approach, incorporating advances in research, technology, and the crucial role of nursing care. Recent global efforts have significantly progressed, with ongoing research shedding light on the complexities of neonatal sepsis and suggesting tailored approaches for diagnosis and treatment. Recognizing the challenges posed by neonatal sepsis, there is a dedicated focus on developing novel diagnostic tools, particularly rapid and personalized methods, offering a promising avenue for early detection and timely interventions. Nursing perspectives are pivotal, emphasizing education, continuous training, and the integration of technology to enhance healthcare professionals' capacity to provide optimal care for at-risk neonates. The potential impact on the future management extends to collaborative efforts, evidence-based protocols, and a patient-centered approach, acknowledging the unique characteristics of neonates. Despite progress, the review underscores the ongoing need for research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and translating findings into tangible improvements in clinical practice. Continued advancement in understanding neonatal sepsis and applying research findings will be essential in further reducing mortality and enhancing the well-being of at-risk infants.
