Abstract

An antipodal Vivaldi antenna is developed for hyperthermia treatment of brain tumor. The proposed antenna has overall size 82×94×1.6mm. The return loss parameter is less -10 dB starting from 0.1 GHz, range, when immersed in brain simulating liquid. The paper presents optimization of array structure to focus energy in the intended tumor location. Results indicate that the presented structure is promising in developing microwave imaging systems.
