Abstract
Due to increasing population and industrial expansion, most of the developing countries are facing drinking water problems and the conditions are very severe from the last few years. Therefore, the demand for new and novel purification and separation techniques of heavy metal ions have become increasingly worldwide. Various separation and purification methodology have been studied for metal removal such as adsorption, advanced oxidation process, ozonation, electrochemical removal process, nanofiltration and membrane bioreactor. Among these techniques, chelation and preconcentration process have been exhibited to be a very simple, effective, easy and economical process used for the removal of metal ions from wastewater.
