Abstract

In wireless sensor networks, sensor nodes have a limited power resource. The energy consumed to route data from the sensor node to its destination raises as a critical issue in designing wireless sensor network routing protocols. In this paper we propose a routing protocol called MIN-RC to enhance the hierarchical routing protocol LEACH-C. MIN-RC uses an adaptive method to control the round time considering the current state of the network. The simulation results of our proposed protocol using the ns2 simulator show that we improve the network efficiency in comparison to existing state-of-the-art protocols.
