Utilization of Small S-Boxes for Information Hiding

Abstract

This chapter aims to combine S-boxes which are the most important object of symmetric cryptography along with information hiding schemes, namely steganography, to provide protection against digital security terrorizations. It examines algorithm for the construction of small S-boxes, and presents the application of proposed schemes of S-boxes in image hiding. By designing nonlinear component for block cipher namely S-box, it is quite important to find structures which have the best cryptographically excellent characterisitcs. Image quality measures are the key for most picture handling applications. Any picture and feature procurement framework can utilize the quality metric to modify itself consequently for getting enhanced quality pictures. Picture quality measures prevail to convey quantitative information on the dependability of extracted images.
