Abstract

An ulcer is a secondary skin lesion in which there is loss of the integrity of the skin. Ulcers result from the evolution of a primary skin disease process (primary skin lesion). In this chapter we discuss the definition, causes, differential diagnosis, and biopsy of ulcers in the setting of rheumatologic disease.
