Abstract

Nanotechnology plays an important role in the cosmetics industry, and is emerging as the leading cosmetic technology in the 21st century. This involves design, characterization, production, and application in the cosmetics industry, where cosmetic ingredients can be transformed in the range of 10–1000nm. This technique makes it possible to form smaller nanoparticles of cosmetic ingredients that can have active components that are readily absorbed onto the skin, repair damage easily, and promote better product efficacy. In this chapter, we summarize the different beauty product formations and applications coupled with nanotechnology.
