Abstract

In this paper, metasurfaces are utilized to support off-broadside radiation. The design consists of a square ring element printed in the vicinity of non-uniform metasurfaces. The non-uniform metasurfaces are designed to improve the realized gain of the tilted beam and to enhance the matching performance of the radiating element. The proposed design yields a tilted beam with a maximum realized gain of 9.7 dBi. The design operates from 4 to 5 GHz with a reflection coefficient below -10 dB. The overall height profile is 0.07_4.5GHz.
