Abstract
This paper presents the sliding mode control of a low pressure discharge lamp used for water disinfection. The chattering problem in the classic sliding mode is solved using super-twisting algorithm and reliable results are given to prove the interest of high order sliding mode controller for complex and nonlinear systems.
