Abstract

This chapter focuses mainly on the toxicological resources in Saudi Arabia. It summarizes most of the agencies, authorities, centers, facilities, and literature related to toxicology and its multidisciplinary branches such as clinical toxicology, forensic toxicology, occupational toxicology, regulatory toxicology, environmental toxicology, and risk assessment. Similar to many developing countries in the world, Saudi Arabia has followed the path of developed countries and mimicked their main infrastructures to achieve efficient toxicological standards. Despite that, geographic, economic, and cultural factors have also influenced the unique toxicological resources in Saudi Arabia. The Ministry of Health, Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), the General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection, universities, Saudi society for environmental sciences, Saudi society of marine sciences, Saudi pharmaceutical journal, and Saudi journal of biological sciences are examples of the toxicological resources in Saudi Arabia. Along with the toxicological literature about health issues, these resources are considered the basis of toxicology in the country.
