Retraction note: A novel construction of substitution box for image encryption applications with Gingerbreadman chaotic map and S8 permutation (Neural Computing and Applications, (2018), 29, 4, (993-999), 10.1007/s00521-016-2511-5)

The Editor-in-Chief and the publisher have retracted this article. An investigation by the publisher found a number of concerns, including but not limited to citations which do not support claims made in the text, non-standard phrasing, and image irregularities. Based on the investigation’s findings the Editor-in-Chief therefore no longer has confidence in the results and conclusions of this article. Author Majid Khan disagrees with this retraction. Author Zeeshan Asghar has not responded to correspondence regarding this retraction.
