Abstract
Multimode Optical fibre has emerged as the fastest mode of data transmission at bulk. Its speed and amount of data it can transfer per unit time has forced organizations to rely on it. But even after a lot of advantages it reflects some threats. With respect to reliability and data security, some organizations are considering opting cryptography over the whole network connections where the real physical accessibility of the network cannot be guaranteed. In this research article we discuss proper protection at physical layer and encryption if needed can make multi mode fibre optical networks more secure and reliable as compared to rest of the media.
