abstract = "The structures of historical monuments are mainly made up of curved structural elements. These elements can be curved beams composed of a succession of caissons or curved, cylindrical, or spherical plates and shells. The rehabilitation of similar structures requires reinforcements that have the same forms. With current solutions based on external supporting structures reinforcements, the presentability of the reinforced historical monuments is strongly alternated. This paper proposes a curved and thin reinforcement solution based on composites made from Alfa natural fibers. The reinforcement is bonded in perfect adhesion with the structure to be reinforced. A numerical model and experimental tests have been conducted. An analytical model related to composite reinforcement has been developed. The results show that the concrete beam with reinforcement fails at a force value superior to the unreinforced sample beam. Consequently, the equivalent bending resistance is improved by reinforcement. Reinforcements based on epoxy resin and braided alfa fibers are suitable candidates for reinforcing structures made of curved structural elements.",
