Real-time implementation of the Deriche edge detector on the Zybo board

Abstract

This paper presents an updated implementation of the Deriche edge detector in the era of programmable systems-on-chip, that will offer a new opportunity to integrate a whole segmentation chain in a single device. Based on existing optimizations of the filter we judiciously manage the area and the memory so as to leave enough space to insert the rest of the chain units.
