Instantaneous and Average Throughput Maximization with Solar Energy Harvesting

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

We optimize the throughput when the source recovers energy from sun. We optimize the instantaneous or average throughput to optimize the quality of service. Instantaneous throughput optimization has a better throughput than optimizing the average throughput. Besides, maximizing the average or instantaneous throughput offers a larger throughput than fixed packet length. The obtained results can be applied for next generation of wireless communications including 6 G and beyond and offers a large throughput. We also derive the throughput when the source recovers power from sun and the results are valid for Rayleigh channels. In this paper, it is suggested to maximize the instantaneous or average throughput for wireless communications using solar energy harvesting.
