Abstract

Work presented here is a survey of information security issues in wireless networks from a novel perspective. We have tried to figure out information security issue inherent to wireless networks because of their design simplicity. Distributed Denial of Services (DDoS) in its various forms is being increasingly used as type of attack, with advent of technical expertise DDoS has been camouflaged into forms more devastating and more difficult to mitigate. There are certain motivational factors for attackers that need to be focused for a comprehensive defense mechanism. We have tried to classify those incentives for a proper design of defense solution.
