Abstract

The unwritten expectations from the employees have been something that puzzled academicians and practitioners equally for years. Researchers refer to psychological contract as the unwritten expectations operating between members of an organization, the various managers and others in the organization. However not much study seem to have been done to explore the differences in these expectations between people who have and do not have previous work experience in other organizations. This study attempts to understand if previous job experience acts as an influencing factor in the building up of these expectations. The influence of demographic variables and factors like career level in the organization, performance level, etc are also explored.
