Abstract

Assessment of Health Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) of chronic diseases has become increasingly important measure to evaluate disease state influence on patients, treatment satisfaction, and overall disease management. HRQoL in patients on warfarin was measured using WHOQOL-BREF. Descriptive and inferential statistics analysis were done using SPSS version 20. Out of 387 warfarin patients, more female patients were observed than male patients (n = 257, 66.4% and n = 130, 33.6%, respectively). One hundred and forty-four (36.4 %) patients were less than 35 years of age whereas two hundred and fourty six (63.6%) patients were above than 35 years of age. Mean scores for physical domain (62.11 ± 15.53), psychological domain (68.20 ± 16.11), social relationship domain (64.46 ± 26.19) and environment domain (63.43 ± 17.60) were observed. Patients had overall moderate to good HRQoL scores in all four domains. Age, gender, employment status, education level, indication of use, and duration of warfarin therapy affected one or more domains of HRQoL among warfarin patients.
