Abstract
This paper describes a procedure for taking into account distributed loads in a Dynamic Stiffness Matrix formulation. The procedure is presented in the context of harmonic response of tubular shell continuous elements. This work is the direct continuation of a recent work describing the construction of the dynamic stiffness matrix for axisymmetric shell elements. The validation of these developments is achieved by comparison of accuracy and computational time of harmonic response calculation performed by the continuous element model and a finite element model.
