Abstract

A perfect Performance Management (PM) system which recognizes and give due i mportance to human resources are alone are capable of providing a distinct and sustained competitive advantage. PM includes all activities that facilitate the harmonious and strategic blending of individual and organizational objectives. It is capable of delivering sustained success to organisations by developing the capabilities of teams and individuals. The present article examines if the PM for Medical Practitioners are different from that of the general form. A review of the available literature shows that there is indeed a host of differences between PM applicable to Medical Practitioners and the general professionals. This is due to the unique nature of the medical profession and the competencies required to accomplish their tasks in a peerless manner.
