Abstract

An active distribution network is an important concept for the implementation of a smart power grid. This chapter discusses in detail the active distribution network for the implementation of the smart grid. Different components of the active distribution network with information and communication systems are discussed. Further, the operation and control of the active distribution network is also discussed with demand-side management systems. At last, the issues of the active distribution network are also discussed in this chapter.
