N2 - The aim of this paper is the non-invasive determination of cardiac output by the bioadmittance signal processing. This method involves exploration of the cardiovascular system activity through the evaluation of the electrical admittance variation of the aorta during the cardiac cycle. The ventricle system modeling-aorta helped establish a new formula to calculate in a simple way the cardiac output. This formula involves, including electrical admittance of the body section explored, the age of the patient and the size of the thorax. A linear correlation between the bioadmittance method and the conventional methods, involving 31 patients of heart diseases, showed the existence of a significant correlation with a coefficient of correlation r =0.943 (p < 0.001). These results show that the new formula can be used accurately for the noninvasive determination of cardiac output. Determining digital and non-invasive of the most important hemodynamic parameter, cardiac output, is capital for the subjects supporting poorly invasive methods such as pregnant women, children and the elderly.
