Abstract

A chipless RFID tag based on multiresonators is discussed in this paper. As a preliminary design the tag has a data capacity of 3-bits in the range from 2 to 2.25 GHz. The proposed tag consists of a multiresonating spiral circuit and two orthogonally polarized ultra-wideband (UWB) monopole antennas for realizing the cross polarization retransmission process. The prototype of the tag is designed on a Taconic TLX-8 substrate of dielectric constant 2.55 and thickness 0.787 mm. The resonators are mainly based on spiral type placed in compact shape.
